FINGER.FEDI.PUB
✦ SOCIALIZE LIKE IT'S 70s ✦

Before Twitter. Before Facebook. Before the web itself — there was finger. A dead-simple protocol from 1971 that let you look up anyone on the network. We brought it back. For the Fediverse.

Replace with any Fediverse handle. Works with Mastodon, Ghost, Pleroma, Misskey, and more.

// how it works
1 Your terminal opens a raw TCP connection to port 79 on this server — exactly as specified in RFC 1288, December 1991.
2 This proxy resolves the handle via WebFinger on the target domain's /.well-known/webfinger endpoint.
3 It fetches the ActivityPub actor and their public outbox, then formats profile + recent posts as plain 7-bit ASCII.
4 The result streams back to your terminal over the same TCP connection, and closes. No tracking. No cookies. No JavaScript. Just text.
